Date Posted: 31/01/2015

Local History, World War One, and Science combine in the Museum of Science and Industry’s next exhibition.

The Innovation Race: Manchester’s Makers Join the First World War will be MOSI’s first ever war exhibition.

Opening to tie in with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Munitions, the exhibition aims to outline how Mancunian innovation helped to turn around the outcome of World War One.

The display will feature 30 never-been-seen-before artefacts, images and documents, including hands-on gadgets.

Plus, it will commemorate David Lloyd George’s visit to Manchester, when he made his rally call for the city’s makers to step-up their efforts.

The exhibition is suitable for children aged nine and up and will run from 28th March to April 2016.
