Cravings exposed at the Science Museum

Date Posted: 07/01/2015

The latest exhibition at the Science Museum looks into the secret powers of food.

Cravings: Can Your Food Control You? examines how the biological complexities of diet and cravings can be traced all the way back to the womb, where the human body learns to enjoy certain flavours and tastes.

Harnessing cutting edge technology, this exhibition tells stories and showcases unusual objects to explore the hold food has on a person’s behaviour.

Many of the exhibits are hands-on, and students will also be able to take part in experiments during their visit to the show.

The exhibits are suitable for Key Stages 2 to 4 and lend themselves to teaching areas of the Curriculum like life processes and living things and health and nutrition.

Cravings opens on 12th February. For more information visit
