Community exhibition at National Coal Mining Museum

Date Posted: 27/05/2014

Courage, Camaraderie and Community, looking at how mining communities celebrate and remember coal mining, will be on display at the Wakefield museum from 2nd June to 28th September.

The exhibition presents a series of memorials examining the lives of those involved, and demonstrating insight into how communities have dealt with the loss of mining in their identity, and built hope for the future.

To coincide with Courage, Camaraderie and Community, Canadian artist Gary Blundell’s Bituminous Illuminations paintings will also be on display throughout the museum.

Entry to the exhibition is free.
