Civil rights tour supports KS3 History and Citizenship

Date Posted: 18/08/2015

The Galleries of Justice Museum in Nottingham has launched a new civil rights tour called Get Up Stand Up which is suitable for Key Stage 3 students and above.

The tour supports History, PSHE/Citizenship, Politics and Sociology.

The brand new audio and visual experience promises to take students on a journey through the history of civil rights movements across the world.

Get Up Stand Up explores notions of justice, injustice and human rights through the themes of migration, freedom and oppression.

The tour takes place in several areas of the Galleries of Justice Museum including the main court room, gaols, cells and caves.

Get Up Stand Up will take place on selected dates in October, but may run past that date for school group bookings.
