Date Posted: 20/11/2017

Chessington World of Adventures, in Chessington will be adding some new workshops to its offering come 2018, and will see some new animal arrivals.

The attraction already has a wide educational offering, and this year saw the launch of the new Gruffalo ride which has a school workshop to coincide with it.

In 2018, there will be new animals including four new endangered tigers in the Land of the Tigers zone.

What’s new for 2018?

The new interactive workshop, Tigerrific Conservation, of which the name is still in discussion, can be tailored for Key Stage 2 to 5.

During the workshop pupils will ‘learn their stripes’ by discovering all there is to know about the endangered tigers and the importance of conservation, whilst also taking an active role in protecting their species with the schools conservation project.

Led by the education officer, the also new educational ‘walkshops’ will take place at different locations around the theme park and zoo to provide students with an immersive education experience and real-life examples relating to what they are learning at school.

Safari in Action is another new experience and will be suitable for Key Stage 1 to 5. During this experience students will discover a variety of different African animals and habitats as they take a guided walk through Wanyama Village. This experience will tie in with Science, covering topics such as classification, habitats, and food chains.

Forces in Action, for Key Stage 1 to 5 will allow pupils to see the rides up close and learn about the secrets behind them, from their designs to the forces that make them work. This session will tie in with Design and Technology, Science and Maths.

These workshops are still in the making and may change before 2018. New information is coming shortly.
