Brecht parable at the Unicorn Theatre

Date Posted: 05/12/2014

London children’s theatre the Unicorn is staging a new adaptation of Berthold Brecht’s The Caucasian Chalk Circle this January.

Suitable for children aged 11 and above, the timeless parable asks searching questions about the impact of war, individual responsibility and social justice.

Blood runs through the streets and the governor’s severed head is nailed to the gates of the city. Grusha is a young servant girl who must make a difficult choice: should she save her own life or sacrifice everything to rescue the abandoned child of the Governor’s wife?

School groups of ten or more can claim a discounted ticket rate of £10 per pupil plus one free ticket for the teacher.

The production runs from 16th January to 21st March.
