Following a major investment, Blackpool Zoo has redeveloped its education department.

Blackpool Zoo has invested over £100,000 into its education department to teach the next generation of pupils about the importance of conservation.

The new facilities include three cutting- edge rainforest, desert and savannah themed classrooms which demonstrate the natural habitats of some of the animals in the zoo.

There is also a new outdoor learning area, insect and reptile enclosures and research offices.

Blackpool Zoo’s education department provides National Curriculum based workshops for classes of up to 35 students from Key Stage 1 to undergraduate level.

Also the zoo will run school holiday courses such as ‘Keeper Kids’ for children aged eight to 11, ‘Zoo School’ for 12 to 14 year olds and ‘Zoo Keeper Academy’ for students aged between 15 and 17.
