Autumn season at the Donmar

Date Posted: 04/06/2014

London’s Donmar Warehouse has announced that its autumn/winter productions will include Henry IV, My Night with Reg and City of Angels.

The season opens on 31st July with My Night With Reg, running until 27th September. A comedy set during the summer of 1985 in a London flat, it was billed as a ‘defining moment in the lives of gay men’ when it first hit the stage.

School trip organisers should note that this production is only suitable for students over 16 years old.

3rd October sees the start of a new version of Shakespeare’s Henry IV, directed by Phyllida Lloyd, and running until 29th November.

The play is set to show Shakespeare in a new light, and follows Lloyd’s all-female production of Julius Caesar at the Donmar in 2012, which placed the play in a women’s prison.

City of Angels, with a jazz score by Cy Coleman, marks the revival of this 20th century ‘film noir’ musical set in Los Angeles. It runs from 5th December to 7th February.
