Autumn Nerine exhibition at Exbury Gardens

Date Posted: 28/04/2014

Throughout October, school groups visiting Exbury Gardens in the New Forest can see its extensive collection of jewel lilies (l. Nerine sarniensis).

The gardens’ Five Arrows Gallery will be ablaze with the sparkling colours of Nick de Rothschild’s collection.

Outside, the Festival of Autumn Colour will get under way as Exbury’s maples, dogwoods, liquidambers and many other trees and shrubs explode into a haze of crimson, orange, yellow and deep purple.

A special autumn trail will guide students to the best of the colour in Yard Wood, although school groups also have the opportunity to book a guided tour with a senior guide or head gardener John himself.

The Exbury Gardens Steam Railway will be running throughout the Festival of Autumn Colour event, giving school trip organisers the opportunity to book a ride for their classes.
