Auckland Castle to launch 2016’s school programme

Date Posted: 12/10/2015

Next February will see the beginning of Aukland Castle’s 2016 schools programme for KS1 and KS2 students.

Auckland Castle will offer a variety of tours and workshops for children including investigating Christian faith through art in the castle chapel or hearing tales about boar hunts and Scottish prisoners for Drama studies.

Students will also be able to learn about the lives of Prince Bishops in their palace and hunting lodge, among the historic grounds of the property.

The parkland surrounding the castle can also be visited so pupils can undertake nature trails, build dens and try pond dipping in the summer.

Each visit will be led by a qualified teacher  and museum educator and bespoke experiences for individual groups will also be on offer.
