Caught in the Act at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, sees actress Emily Pithon go from stage to gallery with an exhibition of her cartoons.

Caught in the Act runs from 9th September to 5th October. The exhibition is a comic take on the world of acting, and features a collection of pen and ink cartoons.

Emily is no stranger to the SJT and is currently appearing in Alan Ayckbourn’s Time of My Life revival, as Stephanie.

Commenting on the exhibition she said: “I wanted to do something creative between acting jobs and I’ve always absolutely loved cartoons particularly the work of Sempé, Edward Gorey and Ronald Searle.

“Being in theatre and working as an actor has always struck me as quite a funny thing to be doing with my life. There is rich cartoon material to be found on stage, backstage and even in the auditorium.”
