A discovery into the underwater world of the River Thames

Date Posted: 29/04/2015

Sea Life London Aquarium will be opening a new zone, themed around the River Thames.

Pupils can discover a secret portal into the hidden world of hundreds of creatures and freshwater plants living in the Thames, as part of the new Thames Walk area at Sea Life London Aquarium.

A chance to spot an array of British creatures, the new experience will take visitors through the history of the river from the 'Great Stink' of Victorian Times to the cityscape of modern times.

As part of the new zone, a Thames Tideway interactive exhibit will teach pupils about the current pollution levels of the Thames and how the human population is affecting the ecosystem. There is also an opportunity to enter a virtual reality simulator and walk the river-bed of the clean Thames of the future, interacting with its inquisitive (digital) residents.
