2014 exhibitions at Bristol Museums

Bristol Museums, which includes The Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, and M Shed, has given details of its programme from now until the end of the year, including an exhibition focussing on the life of artist Jeremy Deller.

Currently on display at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery is City Lives, which will run until 2nd March. Featuring artists from around the world, City Lives explores some of the issues arising from urbanisation today.

Jeremy Deller – English Magic, also at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery from 12th April to 21st September, reflects Deller’s interest in the diverse nature of British society and its broad cultural, socio-political and economic history.

Turner watercolours from Bristol Museums, Galleries and Archives’ own collection will be displayed alongside those of Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum, the Holburne Museum, and the Victoria Art Gallery from 1st May to 6th July.

Turner: Watercolours from the West will feature Bristol’s recently acquired watercolour by JMW Turner, The Mouth of the Avon.

What’s on at M Shed

An autumn display at M Shed, Moved by Conflict will open on 11th October and run until 2nd March 2015 in commemoration of the start of World War One. The exhibition will examine the impact of global conflicts on Bristol.
