2014 air shows at IWM Duxford

Date Posted: 06/11/2013

IWM Duxford has announced a series of air shows for next year, including a D-Day commemoration show and the annual Flying legends event.

Beginning in May, the programme opens with The D-Day Anniversary Air Show, taking place on 24th and 25th May. The event will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the military campaign, demonstrating the vital role that aerial warfare played in the invasion of Normandy.

School trips can see fighter, bomber and transport aircraft types that would have been seen over the beaches of France, as well as a march by Normandy veterans and serving personnel from the Parachute Regiment.

Legends air show returns to Duxford

You can also get tickets now to see the Flying Legends Air Show, which returns to Duxford on 12th and 13th July.

Highlights of this show include the presentation of historic piston-engined aircraft in rare combinations and flying displays, plus a flying display in 1940s style over the airfield.

Alternatively, you could organise a school group visit to The Duxford Air Show on 13th and 14th September, celebrating aviation in all its forms. Highlights include combinations of historic aircraft, contemporary jets and aerobatics.

Tickets are available to book online now; school trip organisers will find a ten per cent discount off ticket prices when purchasing them on the day of each event.
