Living in the shadow of Vesuvius

Key Stage 2 students will tour the special British Museum exhibition Life and death in Pompeii and Herculaneum and examine the objects on display.

They will then meet members of a Pompeian household to gather information about life in AD 79.

After lunch they find out more about the eruption of Vesuvius and help Pliny the Younger, a famous Roman writer, describe the events of that fateful day. The maximum group size is 90 from any one school.

This special school session takes place on 2nd, 3rd, 16th, 17th May; and 13th, 14th, 20, 21st June between 10am and 4pm. This session is offered free but you do need to pre-book.
