UK tour for hard-hitting new drama

A new play from writer Ben Tagoe, The Thing About Psychopaths, will be touring the country this spring, kicking off its tour at The Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds on 7th March.

The Thing About Psychopathsis a Red Ladder Theatre production, only suitable for school groups of 14 years and over. Red Ladder champions new writing, particularly that which challenges or agitates, and aims to produce theatre contributing to social change and global justice.

A synopsis of The Thing About Psychopaths

Noel’s from a decent background, but he’s ambitious and he’s always wanted more than he’s had. When Ray, a senior trader at the financial institution they both work for, persuades him that he could have more, he decides that the chance is his for the taking.

But when their activity is exposed, Ray denies all knowledge and Noel ends up facing his worst nightmare: prison. How will he cope?

About the author

Ben Tagoe was born and brought up in Perth, Scotland. He has written numerous theatre scripts, and was one of only eight writers selected in 2011 for the BBC Writers Academy. He has since written for BBC shows Doctors, Casualty and Eastenders.
