School trip

Sian Belfield, customer relations director at WST, explains how the company works with teachers to ensure the best outcome for school trips in light of recent world events.

“As is all too clear in recent times, we can’t stop unexpected events. However, the experienced team at WST have been working hard to put practical solutions in place quickly for their customers, to provide reassurance, support and choices.

“Understandably, teachers, parents and students have been worried by recent terror events and have questioned whether to go ahead with their trip.

“Teachers who choose to cancel a trip because they feel it’s unsafe to take students away at that time will not receive a refund. WST’s overriding message is that your students don’t need to be disappointed: trips don’t need to be cancelled, and parents don’t have to be angry at losing their money.”

WST offers various options when it comes to changes in your school trip plans:

•    The company will postpone your trip to a later date when you feel more confident to go
•    Your itinerary can be tweaked so that you are visiting less high profile or less central attractions
•    Your destination can be changed altogether
•    WST will help you to reassure parents and give them peace of mind.

Log-in to TRIP HQ

TRIP HQ is WST’s very own, bespoke, secure log-in area. As well as being a hub of information for your trip, it’s a platform to share information with parents. On TRIP HQ teachers can fill in a tour diary each day, describing what the group has been doing for the day plus upload pictures of the trip. Parents can log in securely to see how the trip is going and have the reassurance of feeling closer to the daily activities.
